I'm purely a "drop on me, I drop on you" kinda guy. Also, my on favourites at my Entrecard dashboard. Only very rarely, when I'm at one of the blogs I "return drops" at or at one of my faves, and I see a really interesting ad will I click to check it out. If I like it enough I'll drop a card on that new one, and maybe even add it to faves.

And no, I don't drop 300 cards. In fact I've NEVER dropped 300 cards ever, in a single day. I average about 30 to 40 a day, depending on how many was dropped on me plus my faves.

My method for dropping Entrecards is this - I have about 40 sites that reciprocate as a rule, such as yourself, plus my blogging friends, that get dropped on first of all. Then I go through the list of people that dropped on me, to reciprocate. Then, if there's any cards left over, I have a couple of hundred sites that are fast loading with the card in a nice prominent position, that i drop through to take me to the limit.

I reciprocate first, and then "top up" with quickly loading sites. Any interesting blogs get added to the daily list.

I find doing this gets me more and more reciprocated drops all the time, and I get the maximum amount of credits every day, so by the end of a week, i can advertise on pretty much any blog.

I have no idea how to drop Entrecards efficiently. I have a slow connection so it takes forever.

@foxtwo: Thanks foxtwo for the share. Wow you only drop 40 cards a day. I drop 300 cards cos I'm afraid I'd miss anyone out and sometimes 300 is too little sometimes.

@grateful guy: you are most welcome and thanks for sharing how you drop cards. very interesting that some of my dropppers also take the 'fast load blogs' method. but do they all reciprocate?

@dineometerdeb: it's alright debs. you are already considered one of my regular droppers. One of the reasons that I drop on your blog (the first few times) is cos of your pretty entrecard. :) I shudder when I think of exams. Sigh. 24 more hours to go till my first paper. Eeks.

I do the same thing. I generally only get to about 125 or 150 because I try to comment...especially if I see something of interest to comment on. BTW - you've been tagged as a techno fave now!

I only drop from my inbox..I just wish they would make a way so that it opens in a new window instead of me having to go back to my browser to plug in entrecard inbox each time!!! If someone else knows a faster way to drop from the inbox I would love to hear it!

I used to drop about 250 a day, but I've been busy with preparing for my move to WP. That has taken up a lot of my time. LOL... I've fallen behind on reading blogs, commenting and dropping. Hell, and even on POSTING...lol.

But when I was more active, I returned all cards dropped on me, then I would drop on my friends, and then I would do a bit of power dropping.
I've been meaning to start adding more blogs to my favorites so as to make dropping easier...lol... another thing I'll add to the list to do!

@Bob O: Thanks for your input on the topic. And thanks for leeting me know about being tagged as a techno fave. Don't really know what is it but hey... it's a good thing right? lol.

Bob, what you can do with regards to your "problem" is download a tabbed browser like firefox or IE7 which allows you to right click on cards and select 'open in new tab' then you can click as many cards and open them as new pages while keeping your inbox open. That is what I do and it is faster. Try it some time!

@Jillian: I have been wanting to move to WP like you but there is so much in blogspot that I'm scared to lose when I migrate. Trust me, you have been one of the more active entrecarders in terms of commenting and reading.

I really admire and aspire to be like you! Once I'm done with the friggin exams, that is part of my to do list- to comment as actively as you! :)

@ Jasmine: I set up a local server, so I could test my theme and get everything ready for the move. It turns out you can import your posts and comments from Blogger. It imports everything, including drafts!

The only thing is, the commenters lose the link to their Blogger profile or their site (if they commented using open ID). But you at least get to keep the actual comments so it doesn't look like you're a new blog all over again.

I'm not sure how to set up the local server (I had someone walk me through it and like a dummy I didn't write the steps down), but I can tell you everything I learned as far as installing a graphic header, plug ins and other small tweaks.

Haha, thanks about the commenting. I like people to know someone is reading! I think so many people give up because they feel like they are writing into a void, ya know? But if it's interesting to me or I have an opinion on it, I'll always try to say something!

Not all of them, but some of them are starting to now I keep dropping on them.

good technique! think am gonna try how you do it. I've been thinking of ways how to drop systematically and efficiently =)

I truly believe in reciprocating aswell, I try and do as many as possible, But like you there are times where its not possible. First i drop on about 100 sites that usually drop back, Then i will drop on my commenter's aswell as favorites.I usually drop 50-100 on sites ive never seen before to get new readers and I try to comment on 5-10 blogs everyday.

I do my whole inbox every morning, then click throughout the day. I'm also quite new at Entrecard, but I'm not a power dropper at ALL!

@grateful guy: Well, I guess reciprocation and persistence are a really powerful combination when it comes to entrecard dropping. :)

@dave: I started out dropping about 100 plus cards too. I guess once I start I simply can't stop. lol. It's like eating chips. I'm still working on the comments tho. Once I'm done with the exams, I'll try and start commenting more! :)

Hey there, I love entrecard too. I linked you with one of those, tag you're it blogs. Check it out on my blog.

I don't always start the same way. But I have blogs in my EC favourites and between those and the inbox drop list I get enough dropping done. I used to drop 300 almost every day. I don't now. Just too time sucked up on this. Now I focus on the blogs I actually want to come to read regularly and try to get all the dropped cards a return visit. Sometimes I look into a category at EC and see if there are any new additions that look promising.

Very eductional post. I've been averaging about 20-30 because reading all the blog takes so much of my time. I getting better at it though.

I have been having SERIOUS trouble with dropping entrecards since around the time they made changes to the system. Blogs with entrecard seem to be loading slowly or not at all. :( Making my dropping painfully slow. Sadly, it's meant my reciprocating isn't always happening. It's better today so fingers crossed the problem is over (whatever was causing it).
